Up To Your Neck: 6 Chic Ways To Wear A Turtleneck

28 Aug

Up To Your Neck

Whether they have a borrowed-from-the-boys feel, are skin-tight (my personal fave), ribbed, cowl, chunky, mock-necked or sleeveless – reintroduce the turtleneck into your wardrobe this fall.

Turtlenecks are what I would call a functional fashion trend, (obviously they keep you warm during the fall) but also have the ability to add a chic mod sensibility to any look. When styled correctly turtlenecks can be so flattering. The fitted high neck creates the illusion of a defined jaw line, a slimmer looking face, and ultimately a slimmer looking frame. They streamline your silhouette, keeping you warm and cozy without adding bulk, plus there’s the added bonus of being able to just walk out the door without wasting time fishing out a scarf from your closet.

Another advantage of donning a turtleneck this fall is that it provides you a blank canvas to show off your accessories!  Add a new bold or fanciful statement necklace; wear your hair in a high-pony tail or a low chignon to show off a fantastic pair of dangly earrings; or feature an ornate brooch. A look variation any girl who classifies herself as an accessories maven would love.

But what say you (turtlenecks)…would you wear it?

Thank u! I think turtlenecks have gotten a bad rap (for whatever reason), but I think they’re so chic!

Love all of those looks! The turtleneck looks good with jeans, pleated skirt, and skinny ankle pants alike. Wonderful styling! For me personally, I probably would prefer a baggier, cozy turtleneck and skinny jeans to wear in the colder weather.

I totally understand preferring a fit not quite as snug. The style of turtlenecks are so varied (there’s one for everyone)! That’s why they’re so great! =)

I don’t know either, because I feel like you look so fashionable wearing them, (in my opinion)!

They’re soo chic! I just recently saw some online that were cropped (seems that trend is here to stay) layered over other items or paired w/ a high-waisted skirt – it looked really cool!
