60-Second Style: The Coffee Date

You’re finally meeting in real life for coffee, it’s time to get dressed, but what to wear? Definitely something comfortable, casual and well put together. Keep warm and stylish in a cashmere sweater, your best fitting skinny jeans, a cross-body handbag and a pair of statement flats (something in an unexpected color or maybe leopard print).

Also, depending on how cold it is, top off the look with a leather jacket, which brings an edgier element to an outfit or go more classic with a well-tailored coat.

What would you wear?

If you asked me what I would wear to a coffee date, I probably would wear this exact outfit! The leopard gives it a bit of sass but the sensible sweater and bag keep it daytime appropriate. Great outfit!

Well put — and I agree, the leopard flats does infact bring sass to the outfit!

Hi Elle! This is such a cute look for a coffee date! I agree, I would probably want to wear a comfy sweater and some skinny jeans as well. I love that you added a pair of leopard print flats to complement the look. It is a nice change from the standard flat riding boot. Great post! ~ Lauren

Its so nerve-wracking going on a first date, so (I think) if you’re dressed comfortably, you’re more likely to come across confident.

The cutout sides (and the fact that they’re leopard print) makes them so unique!
