Give those boots a break and pick out a trendy new pair of platform sneakers this spring/summer. Wear them with denim shorts or a cute shirt-dress (they are sure to be a more fashionable/comfortable option than your go-to flip-flops). However, what do you think, would you wear this trend?

By now you’ve probably noticed that it’s all about the 70s for spring. However, this trend is not limited to just flare jeans, in fact many trends from this decade will be big this season; paisley print, floppy hats, patch-work denim, tons of suede and most surprisingly clogs!
They are the epitome of 70s chic, (with a chunky block heel and a comfortable platform), what do you think of this blast-from-the-past?
Over this past weekend I got the shock of my life when my quick-witted, compulsive shopping aunt (Donna) came to visit me. I was very happy to see her — after I got over the initial astonishment of finding her in the lobby of my building!!
We went out to eat a couple of times but we spend the bulk of our time together laughing and shopping, specifically at Macy’s. I know most people will wait ’til Black Friday (or for the doorbuster sales starting after Thanksgiving dinner) to do their holiday shopping.
However, if you wish to avoid the obscene amounts of people who are sure to be out Thursday night and all of Friday, there are really great deals available now. I was in desperate need of a new pair of boots, so we browsed Macy’s footwear department for a while but it didn’t take very long before my aunt spotted the Nine West over-the-knee boots (featured above) that she bought for me . They’re the perfect casual everyday boot, in a great neutral color — thanks aunt Donna! 🙂
I definitely recommend checking out what’s happening at Macy’s
Orange is definitely the new black! This fun and energized color was prominently featured on the runways of the spring ready-to-wear shows, and had a major moment the in beauty industry this year, as it was easily the season’s “it lip color”. Still holding on, this fiery hue is set to continue to be a major player during fall 2014.
Orange isn’t a color that I would naturally gravitate towards. However, if you’re color shy (like me) but are making efforts to step out of your comfort zone to embrace color, start by working accents of orange into your wardrobe with accessories. Take an orange clutch, statement necklace, or a pair of T-strapped pumps and team them with the equally prevalent color of the season – trendy gray (jeans in this instance) for a bold fall look.
